Budapest

It was a challenging solo flight for me to leave Okinawa, make stops in both Shanghai and Moscow, and finally reach Budapest (without my luggage) to meet my friends from Osborne. But after a good night of sleep and the delivery of my luggage all seems right with the world. We spent a full day touring Budapest aboard a tour bus, walking over 8 miles, and an evening river boat cruise as well. Great day and here I will share some of the many pictures we took.

Budapest is a very old city that spent 30 years during this century under Soviet rule. Now they are free of that influence and trying to restore many of their grand old buildings to their former beauty. We did learn that salaries in Budapest are extremely low. For example teachers probably take home the equivalent of $700 U.S. per month. For that reason many Hungarian young people are moving to nearby countries to get jobs.
